April 4, 2013 – PRLog — Prairie Vista Village broke ground on April 2nd to begin construction of a new continuing care retirement community.  The new community will offer Residential Independent Living, Assisted Living, Short-term Rehabilitation and Health Care to seniors in Altoona.

“Prairie Vista Village offers seniors the opportunity to enjoy a dynamic lifestyle packed with leisure and social activities,” said Gib Wood of Scenic Development. “We have all the amenities and activities that today’s seniors want, and it’s all here for just an affordable monthly fee. There is no entrance fee or endowment.”

Living choices include expansive one- and two-bedroom apartment residences with one to two large bathrooms and spacious closets. Most residences include a fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and walk-in closets. All are designed to take advantage of natural light while offering individual climate controls to accommodate differing comfort preferences.

Fine restaurant-style dining will be made available to all residents, who will also enjoy other community amenities including a bistro and coffee bar, fitness center, outdoor patios and walking paths, crafts and hobby room, chapel, theatre, library, banking center, and more. Resident-centered activity programs, housekeeping, transportation, and concierge services will also be available.

Residents who are generally able to live independently, but benefit from help for certain activities of daily living, may find the Assisted Living residences at Prairie Vista Village to be the perfect housing choice.

The facility also offers health care for those in need of post-surgical treatment, rehabilitation, or long-term nursing care up to 24-hours-a-day.

No-obligation deposits are now being accepted for preferred residences.  Information can be obtained by calling Jill Colbert, Prairie Vista Village Independent Living Director, at 515-967-8700.
